The illustrated poetry collection The Key of World is a masterpiece brimming with natural charm and philosophical reflections on life. Writer Xiao Dingli constructs a fairy-tale world where "all things possess a soul" through her delicate brushstrokes. In short essays and poems such as Little Flowers and Looking Up, she employs imagery like dewdrop spirits and ant couriers to unveil the laws of nature and showcase the vitality of plants, birds, and insects. As an independent illustrator, Wen Aining integrates pure artistic language and mixed media into picture book creation. Her illustrations, characterized by a fresh and lively style, complement the text perfectly, jointly crafting a poetically immersive reading experience.
This book won the 2019 Bing Xin Children’s Book Award and leads children to discover the beauty of nature and feel the abundance and warmth of life through its "science + poetry" approach. Its total sales have surpassed 700,000 copies.
