Music Forest
When the first snowfall settles over the forest, a young girl named Emma follows a distant melody into the quiet winter landscape, where she discovers a hidden ensemble of animals performing deep within the trees. Both intimate and atmospheric, Music Forest unfolds as a gentle journey shaped by sound, nature, and imagination.

Developed during Aining’s time in Germany’s Black Forest, the book reflects her distinctive approach to picture-making—treating music not simply as a theme, but as a narrative structure. Through deliberate pacing, lyrical imagery, and carefully composed visual rhythm, the story invites children to experience listening and seeing as interconnected acts of perception.

Rather than instructing, the book opens an emotional space in which young readers encounter the textures of music intuitively, fostering curiosity, sensitivity, and early artistic awareness.

First published in simplified Chinese in 2017, Music Forest has sold over 100,000 copies and remains in continuous reprint.
